Integral Cradles has been appointed to deliver bespoke façade access equipment for One North Quay, the latest landmark development at Canary Wharf.
The project is set to become Europe’s tallest and most advanced purpose-built commercial lab building, showcasing state-of-the-art design and functionality to support London’s burgeoning life sciences and technology sectors.
Under the contract, Integral Cradles will supply and install a comprehensive suite of access equipment to ensure safe and efficient maintenance of the building’s façade.
The package includes:
• A 34m reach rising mast BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) on twin tracks
• Four monorail systems with three powered cradles
• Two safety lines
One North Quay, a collaboration between Canary Wharf Group (CWG) and Kadans Science Partner, represents a bold vision for the future of London’s life sciences industry. This 823,000 sq ft vertical campus is one of the largest commercial developments in London this year and is being designed to foster innovation and collaboration among multinational corporations, academic institutions, and fast-growing life sciences and tech companies.
The 23-storey building, designed by architects KPF, will feature cutting-edge infrastructure, with up to 60% of its space configured for CL2 wet laboratories and capabilities for CL3 containment—critical facilities in high demand across London. The design also incorporates double-height floors for Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) spaces, further cementing its role as a hub for scientific advancement.
One North Quay’s strategic location in Canary Wharf offers exceptional connectivity, with access to the Elizabeth Line, Jubilee Line, and DLR, as well as close proximity to Heathrow and London City Airport.
