Integral Cradles has been appointed by Montevetro Management Company Ltd to replace the four building maintenance units (BMUs) installed when the prestigious Montevetro building was originally constructed, acting as principal contractor for the project.
Located at 100 Battersea Church Road, overlooking the River Thames, Montevetro was designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership (now RSHP) for developer Taylor Woodrow, on a site previously occupied by an early twentieth-century flour mill. Completed in the late 1990s, the development takes its name from the Italian for “glass building”, reflecting its striking, fully-glazed western façade, which rises from the riverside gardens to maximise views across the Thames towards Chelsea.
Comprising five connected blocks stepping up from four to twenty storeys alongside the historic St Mary’s Church, Montevetro’s 103 apartments were among the developments that helped transform Battersea Reach into one of London’s most sought-after riverside addresses. The scheme also delivered a new public riverside park, extending the walking route between Wandsworth and Battersea bridges.
Under the new contract, Integral Cradles will replace all four of the building’s original BMUs, with the works phased over two years. Two units will be replaced by the end of 2026, with the remaining two to follow by the end of 2027.
As principal contractor, Integral Cradles will manage all aspects of the works, including mobile cranes, scaffolding, on-site welfare facilities, car park back propping, and all associated transport logistics.

The Montevetro project adds to Integral Cradles’ extensive portfolio of BMU replacement and refurbishment works across London’s most recognisable residential buildings.
