Nido, Spitalfields

Nido Spitalfields is spread across 33 floors at the heart of the City, just five minutes from Liverpool Street Station. It offers studios and a range of shared apartments. At its completion, it was the tallest student accommodation building in the world.

We were contracted to provide BMUs to both the tower and podium roof. Both BMUs run along parallel roof tracks mounted on concrete upstands with galvanised steel tracks fixed on cast-in U bolts.

The Tower BMU has a three-stage telescopic reach of 16.5m, runs on 31 meters of track and can slew 180 degrees. This BMU is low-profile, can be parked below roof line and is equipped with an auxiliary 400kg hoist. The smaller Podium BMU has a single jib of 10.9m reach.
