One Thames City

One Thames City is an exclusive new waterside district in London. It comprises 12 buildings, 1,417 homes, shops, restaurants and over 120,000 square feet of commercial space centred around 2.5 acres of public open space within the Linear Park.

Integral Cradles has just completed a major installation at One Thames City for main contractor Midgard and client R&F Property.

The team from Integral Cradles collaborated extensively with the team from Midgard to ensure all aspects of the installation were smooth – from organising the loading bay for the new BMU right down to ensuring all fixings are kept in suitable containers at all times. This level of details facilitates the very best result.

London T Cranes were used to lift the BMU body, weighing 10,500kg, from the ground up to the required level. Installing the BMU included a number of installations:

• install the first jib
• install the main auxiliary winch
• install the brackets for the platform
• install the platform
• slew the BMU and install the counterweight box
• install the main hoist box
• install the secondary jib hoist box
• install the brackets for the platform
• install the hydraulic tank
• lift the cradle up to the roof
• lift the platform up to the roof and install it
• offload all 8 weights down on the ground
• ensure site is immaculate

The client and main contractor were extremely satisfied with the result, which was delivered on time and to the agreed budget.
