Integral Cradles and our sister company and maintenance partner, GIND UK, are proud to reaffirm our commitment to breaking down barriers to race equality in the workplace as part of Race Equality Week 2025.
With a workforce that reflects the diverse fabric of the cities they help shape, we continue to champion inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity at every level.
At Integral Cradles and GIND UK, diversity is embedded in our core values. With over half of our employees born outside the UK and 20% of Integral Cradles’ staff being female, including a third of its management team, we are proud to lead by example in our historically male-dominated industry.
Kevin Walton, our managing director, has emphasised the importance of fostering an inclusive workplace:
“We believe that diversity isn’t just about ticking boxes. We want our employees to feel that every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed. Our workforce reflects the cities we work in, and that makes us stronger as a business. By prioritising talent and skill above all else, we’re building a team that drives innovation and excellence.”
Driving cultural change
According to the Office for National Statistics, women make up just 15% of the UK construction workforce. While this statistic reflects longstanding industry trends, Integral Cradles and GIND UK are actively shifting the narrative. With 25% of their management team now female, both companies are proving that diversity is not just possible but essential for success.
Profiling our diverse team:
Kristina Trifonova: A future leader
One of the company’s brightest talents is Kristina Trifonova, a young project manager at Integral Cradles. In a short time, Kristina has taken on the challenge of managing major projects for industry giants like Lendlease and MACE. Her ability to handle complex installations and oversee large-scale operations demonstrates the growing role of women in the sector.
Aldara Jara Marugan: Leading by example
At GIND UK, Maintenance Manager Aldara Jara Marugan is proving that women can thrive in highly technical roles. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of intricate cradle systems, Aldara successfully balances a demanding career while embracing motherhood, thanks to the company’s flexible working arrangements.
“The ability to adapt my schedule has been invaluable,” she said. “It’s not just about supporting individuals, it’s about building a workplace that works for everyone.”
Race Equality Week 2025 provides a perfect opportunity to emphasise the importance of inclusion and fair opportunities in the workplace. At Integral Cradles and GIND UK, our focus remains clear: to cultivate an environment where talent and ambition are the only factors that determine success.
Kevin added:
“Our commitment to diversity goes beyond words—it’s reflected in the way we recruit, train, and support our people. We know that a diverse workforce brings fresh perspectives and new ideas, helping us stay ahead in a competitive industry. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken, but we also know there’s always more to do.”
