Integral Cradles has completed a complex façade access project at 5 North Colonnade, an office building in Canary Wharf, London, recently used by Barclays’ Corporate & Investment Bank.
The main challenge facing Integral Cradles was to get the old building maintenance unit (BMU) safety decommissioned, removed from the roof and efficiently recycled, and the new BMU lifted onto the building. This was completed utilising a mobile crane hire. The success was down to the our extensive experience and competence of the Integral Cradles engineering team. After developing a lift plan for the mobile crane, this target was achieved according to client’s schedule and cost plan.
Integral Cradles also installed a track-mounted safety line to assist users accessing the equipment safely.
Integral Cradles’ maintenance partner GlND UK is delivering fully comprehensive BMU maintenance for client Canary Wharf Retail Ltd.
Barclays Bank is moving its investment bank staff in London into its nearby headquarters at One Churchill Place, consolidating office space in the Canary Wharf financial district. The British bank said the move was part of a long-term review of its property footprint, as banks worldwide cut back on real estate amid a shift to more home working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
