Integral Cradles delivers installation and factory testing at Woolgate Exchange

Integral Cradles has completed product installation and factory testing services for the new Woolgate Exchange building on behalf of MACE Ltd.

The nine-storey building, newly named Woolgate, has been reimagined by architecture practice Stiff + Trevillion to meet the needs of modern occupiers.

Integral Cradles completed the installation of the initial monorails systems at the site in February 2024.

While onsite, the team carefully coordinated with a screen manufacturer to ensure that the screen supports were adequate to support the design loads for the safety rail. Low headroom at the building also required an innovative test procedure to ensure the rails were compliant.

In March, Integral Cradles completed factory testing in our Madrid factory on the internal powered twin-beam gantry for Woolgate.

The Atrium construction required the powered gantry to be ‘sloped’ which meant using a rack and pinion traverse system on top of the gantry.

Discussing the completed works, Integral Cradles managing director Kevin Walton said:

“We’re delighted to have completed the safety rail installation and factory testing at the Woolgate building. Our work at this development will ensure the building can be safely accessed and maintained for years to come.

Kevin added: “The building’s complex layout meant there were some interesting design challenges for our team, but once again we demonstrated our expertise on a prestigious development.”

The Woolgate Exchange refurbishment project includes the introduction of a new 1,500 sq ft rooftop pavilion with unique views of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Square Mile’s tall building cluster.

The renovated building features over 20,000 sq ft of total external terrace amenity, providing urban greening, biodiversity, and generous outdoor space on the majority of upper floors. Construction of the project is set to be completed in 2025.
