Integral Cradles prioritises worker safety at 2 Aldermanbury project

Silica dust, a common by-product of construction activities, poses a serious health risk. Exposure to silica can lead to silicosis, a debilitating lung disease. At Integral Cradles, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our employees and take proactive measures to protect them from harmful substances like silica dust.

On the recent 2 Aldermanbury Project, Integral Cradles collaborated with main contractor Lendlease and its concrete subcontractor to implement a safety-focused design solution. By incorporating pre-drilled holes with PVC protection into the concrete slab design, we eliminated the need for on-site drilling and significantly reduced our employees’ exposure to silica dust.

This innovative approach demonstrates our commitment to using the latest technologies and best practices to safeguard our workers’ health.

Discussing the approach taken on the 2 Aldermanbury scheme, Integral Cradles managing director Kevin Walton said:

“At Integral Cradles we believe every employee deserves a safe and healthy working environment. By investing in proactive safety solutions, we aim to protect our workers and contribute to a safer construction industry.

The success of our silica dust prevention measures at 2 Aldermanbury is a testament to our strong safety culture and something we’ll be looking to adopt on future projects going forward.”
